Mission

We collect, preserve, and provide access to scholarly resources to support teaching, learning, and research at Carleton, and we play a lead role in making Carleton’s scholarly output available globally.

Message from the University Librarian

Welcome to MacOdrum Library! Consider this website your portal to all the Library’s resources – staff expertise; information resources such as databases, ejournals, and ebooks; links to our own catalogue and discovery layer, and the catalogues of other libraries; library news and reports; ways to give us feedback and ask questions; and much, much more.

The staff at the Library are focused on one thing: giving you all the technology, collections, staff expertise, and resources you need in order to succeed in your studies, overall as well as with that paper you happen to be working on right now. Our modern Library building aims to offer you all the different “flavours” of seating and space that you demand and need: from the quiet single-person carrels of the 5th floor to the bustle of the 4th. Take advantage of our bookable group study rooms, as well: we’ve added a few more (on the 3rd floor) and they are the ideal venue for working on projects with your colleagues. We are also using new technologies to reach you on your mobile devices wherever you are; supporting your research efforts and opening up your research to the world; and working with library colleagues in Canada and around the world to give you enhanced access to excellent research collections.Check out our Twitter feed (@CarletonLibrary) as well as our Instagram page (macodrumlibrary), as well as our growing collection on YouTube (Carleton University Library)

Come to the Library – in person or by this website. We are here to ensure your academic success. And always feel free to ask any staff member about anything you’re not sure about – or contact me directly.
