Help with archival research

Finding what one needs in the Archive may present a challenge to first-time researchers or those with minimal archival experience. We offer assistance using the finding aids and collections.

Professional Advice

We are available for consultation regarding storage, preservation, and archival appraisal, as well as general inquiries regarding historical research and archival sources in both the national capital and Canada as a whole.

Learning Support for Carleton Students

We offer synchronous and asynchronous assistance to students in the use of primary source material in academic research.

Teaching Support for Carleton Faculty and Instructors

Our collections represent a valuable resource for professors and instructors interested in using primary sources, including rare books and rare folio. These collections demonstrate various print formats, adding depth to instruction in diverse academic fields. We offer synchronous and asynchronous assistance to faculty to highlight holdings within Archives and Special Collections.

Hours and Access

Archives & Special Collections is open for walk in reference to collections. We are open Monday to Friday between 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 4pm.
