CANSIM (Canadian Socio-economic Information and Management Database) is Statistics Canada's computerized database of time series covering a wide variety of social and economic aspects of Canadian life.
Major topics include labour, manufacturing, construction, trade, agriculture and finance. Other topics include population estimates, vital statistics, education, justice, and health.
Please note: Carleton students, faculty and staff do not pay for CANSIM tables.
We currently offer 2 versions of the CANSIM database:
- CANSIM
Contains 908,879 series in 9,380 "topical" matrices. Updates were discontinued as of June 1, 2002 but it is being retained for historical reasons. - CANSIM II
An enhanced view of the CANSIM database containing more series (over 1.2 million currently). Updated weekly.
