Changes to Library services during the COVID-19 lockdown.


A collection of ebooks from various Canadian University Presses covering multidisciplinary subject areas, including History, Political Science, and many others.

The Ontario Council of University Libraries and twelve members of the Association of Canadian University Presses/Association Des Presses Universitaires Canadiennes (ACUP/APUC), in conjunction with eBOUND Canada are making available in ebook format, the scholarly works from major Canadian University Presses.

Important Details: 

Until April 30, 2020, certain ebooks borrowed from Scholars Portal have stricter digital rights restrictions and must be read in an application that supports the use of Adobe IDs. Patrons require :

Since there are restrictions on the number of devices (6 in total) that can be used with a single Adobe ID, patrons must use their own personal computers or tablets.

The digital rights vary from open access, to multiple users (minimal Digital Rights Management - no more than 20% of book or chapter for printing/saving at one time), to 1 simultaneous user per institution (minimal Digital Rights Management - with some printing allowed to 1 simultaneous user per institution, no printing/no saving of pages of title (view only access)

After April 30, 2020, you will no longer need to use Adobe Digital Editions.  You will be able to read the eBooks on the Scholars Portal browser or print-to-PDF 20% of any book in any session.  This change will eliminate eBooks from being unavailable to users while they are checked out to another user.
