The First World War: Personal Experiences module focuses on the lives and experiences of men and women during WWI. The resource includes digitally captured objects which have been sourced from museums and collections in the Ypres region. It also contains secondary resources such as interactive maps; 360° panoramas and walk-throughs of the Sanctuary Wood Trench System; scholarly essays; and a visual gallery.

To limit search results to the documents we are entitled to access within the Personal Experiences module, you will need to filter by module.

  • Documents tab (direct link to tab provided above): Scroll to the Module Section of the filters listed on the left hand side of the page. Select Personal Experiences.
  • Advanced Search: Enter your search term(s). Under the Filter section, select module button. Select Personal Experiences and then Apply. When done, click the Search button.
