First World War portal offers content in four thematic modules: Personal Experiences, Propaganda and Recruitment, Visual Perspectives and Narratives and A Global Conflict. The resource includes digitally captured objects which have been sourced from museums and collections in the Ypres region. You will also find secondary resources such as interactive maps, 360° panoramas and walk-throughs of the Sanctuary Wood Trench System, scholarly essays and a visual gallery.

Important Details:

To limit search results to the documents we are entitled to access within the Personal Experiences module, you will need to filter by module.

  • Documents tab (direct link to tab provided above): Scroll to the Module Section of the filters listed on the left hand side of the page. Select Personal Experiences
  • Advanced Search: Enter your search term(s). Under the Filter section, select module button. Select Personal Experiences and then Apply. When done, click the Search button
