The following standard indexes are used by a variety of data providers. The following indexes may come in handy when working with these datasets.

National Topographic System (NTS)

Index system used by Natural Resources Canada for providing general purpose topographic maps of the country. NTS maps are available in a variety of scales, the standard being 1:50,000 and 1:250,000 scales. Various geospatial products from the Government of Canada and private companies tend to distribute their data using the NTS Index.
Google Earth Index

Universal Transver Mercator (UTM) - EPSG Codes

The UTM system divides the Earth into sixty zones, each a six-degree band of longitude. The following index identifies these zones and gives the corresponding EPSG code for setting specific coordinate systems to datasets.
