Course Reserves (Ares) provides you with access to books, articles, and other materials that faculty or instructors have specified on the reading list for their course.
Accessing course reserves
You can access your course reserves by looking up your course in Ares.
You can also access Ares through your course in Brightspace. From the menu at the top of the page in Brightspace, choose Tools, then choose ARES Reserves.
Electronic materials
Most course reserve items are electronic materials and can be accessed directly by clicking the links provided in Ares or Brightspace.
Print books and other physical materials
Sometimes the readings for your course are only available in print format.
Print books and other physical materials on course reserves can be borrowed from the Library.
Bring the title and call number or course code of any item you want to borrow to the main Service Desk in the Library, and the people there will check the book out to you.
Print course reserves can only be borrowed for limited amount of time. Some can be borrowed for only 4 hours, while others can be borrowed for a day. Make sure to bring these books back on time to avoid paying late fees.
