This is a repository of print and online maps related to First Nations and Indigenous Peoples & Culture in Canada, North America and the world.
Many of Carleton Library's print maps have been scanned. These scans are available to Carleton University students, faculty and staff; you must use your Carleton One credentials to access them.
To find maps on the Internet or on the library's website, in order to conduct research, remember to use different terminology i.e. Indigenous, First Nations, Aboriginal. Simon Fraser University has created this document on the history of Indigenous terminology.

MacOdrum Library has an extensive print map collection. Many of our Indigenous maps show treaties, languages, population and historical geography.We also provide a map scanning service for Carleton students, faculty and staff. Find a map in the library's collection? Fill out the form and we will scan that map for you.
To find print & scanned maps in OMNI:
1. Enter your search terms (i.e. "residential school*")
2. On the left hand side, you will notice a list of refinements. Under Resource Type, click on Show More and choose Maps.
Search results include atlases, print maps, scanned maps and some online, interactive maps.
Maps that have been scanned and are copyrighted will require your Carleton One (MC1) credentials in order to download the map in Explorer.
