MacOdrum Library is hosting a day-long RDA hackathon on Friday, January 27, 2017. Co-sponsored by Library and Archives Canada (LAC), the hackathon for RDA metadata will use resources from a variety of Canadian authors. Authors highlighted are: Lee Maracle, Thomson Highway, Lawrence Hill, Dionne Brand, Felix LeClerc, Gabrielle Roy, Lucy Maud Montgomery, and Stephen Leacock.

This is an introductory session aimed at library cataloguers and others interested in metadata and resource discovery. Students, faculty and staff are welcome to register.

The training tool RIMMF (RDA in Many Metadata Formats), designed and created by Deborah and Richard Fritz of The MARC of Quality, will be used. It is intended to help cataloguers think in RDA terms and see how RDA might look in the future.

Pre-registration is required by emailing LAC at bac.normesdecatalogage-cataloguingstandards.lac@canada.ca. If you have any questions about the event, you may direct them to this email as well.
