What kinds of resources are appropriate for your research?

The best place to start looking is in the references and bibliography associated with your class texts:

Books are useful starting resources because of the way in which they are organized.  Once you have a basic idea of what your research topic is about, you will be able to search journal article databases and understand your search results.

Background resources

Disciplinary encyclopedias and dictionaries can give you definitions and background that can help you to define the scope of your research paper.  They are used in concert with other academic and scholarly sources.  Here are a few good resources for background information:
