The RCS ShareFile is a storage service available for Carleton faculty, students, and collaborating outside researchers. ShareFile is an excellent resource to be used as a sandbox throughout all stages of the research data lifecycle. More about ShareFile:

  • Service is provided and set up by ITS (
  • Only members of the Carleton community can create a primary account
  • Researchers outside of Carleton can set up a secondary account allowing them to contribute to the research project
  • Primary account holders will set up permissions to either allow contributors to upload information or to read only
  • You are allotted 500 GB of storage space
  • Service is hosted at Carleton and all of your research data will be securely stored in Carleton’s data centres
  • Data will be replicated and backed up to ensure resiliency
  • Any file uploaded to this service will remain until deleted by the user
