Getting your Carleton Library Card

What you need to do:

  1. Visit any branch of the Ottawa Public library and ask for a Smart Library card. 
  2. Bring the signed and dated Smart Library card and your photo ID with your current address to the Library Services Desk on the main floor.

Borrowing from Carleton Library

You may borrow up to 4 books at any one time for a period of 2 weeks and self-renew up to 5 times.  See our Borrowing service page for details.

Other Services

If you are visiting with your school you may get access to our databases on the computers in our Library Instruction Centre. Otherwise, you may request a Guest Computer Account at the IT Help Desk which will give you access to library computers for the day.

You may also want to check out the Ottawa Public Libraries Databases which are available for free to all residents of the City of Ottawa.
