Class visits include a library instruction session and general orientation to the services available to students.
Teachers should make arrangements for class visits well in advance by contacting our Teaching & Learning Librarian, David Jackson.
Class visits are possible in November, March, May and June.
We will make every effort to schedule high school visits as requested but flexibility is important as the needs of Carleton students must first be accommodated.
Teachers are expected to consult with their teacher/librarian about instruction issues and training prior to coming to Carleton. Students should know how to use a library catalogue, what a journal index is, and know the parts of a citation. Students can practice using the online catalogue from school or home by visiting the library website.
Groups must be no larger than 25 students.
Any research assignments should be provided to the Instruction Librarian prior to the visit. Arrangements for borrowing during class visits should be made at least one week in advance.
