The library has access to a large DVD collection and streaming film and video databases. These collections include thousands of documentaries, feature films, and educational content.

This content can be added to your course in Ares. If you are teaching a course online or would like students to have digital access to films we can link to streaming media through our databases or by obtaining individual permissions.

If you are teaching a course in person, DVDs can be added to the physical reserves collection. Our DVD collection can be found searching by title in Omni.

Didn’t find what you were looking for in our collection?

Our staff can look into other options for purchasing and licensing the films by contacting the filmmaker, director or rightsholder of the film. However, due to the nature of these requests, please allow additional time for processing film requests and be prepared to have possible backups. We always do our best to source materials but in some cases they may not be available for educational licensing or we may not hear back from the owner of the content.

Please submit all film requests for your courses as soon as possible to: library_reserves@carleton.ca
